BETTER ALTERNATIVE TO MIRRORS

Intra-Oral Camera

Intraoral cameras are cameras used to show patient the interior of their mouth, as an alternative to using a mirror. Intraoral cameras allow the patient to see a clear picture of the inside of their mouth, aiding the dentist in consulting with them on various treatment options. Images can be saved to a patient’s file for future reference.

What does an intraoral camera do?

Dentists use these small, high-resolution cameras to capture detailed images of the mouth, including hard-to-see areas. This capability allows for the early identification of cavities, microfractures, and other abnormalities that may not be visible with the naked eye or through traditional examination methods.

What is intra-oral imaging?

It sounds complicated, but intra-oral simply means “in the mouth.” In Intra-Oral imaging cameras (IO cameras) produce accurate images of teeth and the supporting structures.
